There have been a lot of these draft posts from me lately, and I assure you, I think about other things. But I love sharing what I am doing, and I like looking at the work that went into a piece. It has been a very busy few weeks and I am getting more and more orders for custom work. I love it, and still can’t believe that people want me making them stuff.
One of my very favorite people to work with is Tiff, as you may have guessed. It’s fun going through designs with her because she has a very specific eye and aesthetic that I trust, while also encouraging me to run with my own design. Also, she makes clothes look gorgeous, making me look like I know what I am doing. Which I do not.
Tiff has a wedding to go to in April in Canada. My first reaction was “Yay, Spring wedding!” Quickly followed by “Wait, in Canada…” I forget about seasons here sometimes, and cold weather dressing is pretty far out of my wheelhouse right now. It took some time to wrap my head around what I want a Spring dress to look like, while not subjecting my client to hypothermia. I think I have hit somewhere in the middle.
The dress will be kimono-inspired. I love the shape and ease of the kimono style and the silk I will be using is crazy soft, perfect for dancing ones face off.
