T / lookbooks in motion

In addition to having some freshly pressed KIT by Cait in my wardrobe now, another amazing thing about having Cait as a bestie blog partner is being able to work on her lookbook.  And the fact that she’ll even let me experiment with a video lookbook. I’m only starting to get into video work (mostly because a friend asked me to).  And since I’ll be shooting KIT by Cait’s lookbook, I thought, ‘hey girl, let’s throw in some moving pictures too.’  Video lookbooks are a relatively new thing.  I love how they can be production stories, instruction manuals, short art films, or only made to show off the pretty.  It is a deep life bag of options.   So I thought I’d start putting together ideas and seeing what the pro peeps are up.

Vere Verto makes cool multi-purpose Italian leather bags, so they’ve got to show that off a bit.

Part nouvelle vague auteur inspired short film, part art piece, and all lookbook, I dig how much character this vid for Paloma Wool’s Collection No. 5.

I also dig how lookbooks can be a teaser of more to come; the suggestion of, a teaser or just a taste of what is to come. Frank & Oak, a Montréal men’s line, share this really well.

And from this side of the world, Dusk till Dawn’s SS2015 lookbook is just perfect and completely aspirational.  The environment is immediately Bangkok and it’s all about the clothing which permeates through the music and the rhythm of the video.  Like I said. Completely aspirational.
