I have been crushing on Nisolo since I saw their wares on Emma Watson a few months ago. I was SUPER into a pair of shiny loafters, but had no idea they came from such a great company. I was even more excited when I saw how affordable the pieces are in comparision to other makers of the same quality.
Nisolo has a simple design philosophy “committed to delivering effortless style that’s rooted in versatility, comfort, and quality.” In short, they have arrived at the intersection of ethical, beautiful, sustainable, and durable, and it’s a helluva sexy stoplight.
They source all leather from the meat industry, from tanneries who only work with suppliers who are committed to the ethical treatment of animals. Not all the systems are perfect yet, but they are constantly looking for ways to improve the supply chain.
“To us, ethically made means that we offer all Nisolo producers beyond fair trade wages, benefits, and a healthy working environment. We wouldn’t be able to do any of this without you. Your support enables us to create opportunity for over 500 people across our three different modes of ethical production.”
