Good morning, internet. It’s a nice little morning here in Phnom Penh. The sun is shining, boats are passing in the river, and one of us is on coffee number 2 and full of hope this morning, probably due to the coffee. We have a few fun things in our pockets this week, including a pop-up shop with one of our favorites this weekend. More on that soon. Tiff has been juggling a number of different projects, snapping photos all over the place, and is still making an awesome amount of green deserts (because stress baking is the best). Cait is all strategy right now, and starting on a few big projects, involving piles and piles of fabric and pencil-stained hands. Have a great week!

This morning’s soundtrack is Pop Culture Happy Hour, from NPR. Specifically the Brooklyn 99 episode.

Adult colouring books are absolutely a thing I need.

I hope they use the mean jokes about Trump next time. I love you SNL, but I just can’t with that dude.

Yes this is a thing.  And I absolutely miss it.

This article on the future of Japanese fashion, is as interesting and classy as the magazine that brings it to us.

I can’t get enough of this song. Such a throw back to the 90s, and with a very millennial message.

Still have a crush on my president.

What a cool photo essay on the families behind the pubs of East London.

I kind of dig these super bright eyes. My inner 15 year old is excited to make my eye shadow match my tank top.

There are so many events this weekend in Phnom Penh!  Alchemy Design Co. is launching their new showroom, Tonlé has a new line and some delicious brew from our coffee Yoda, and Jane is coming to Phnom Penh (details soon)!  See you all there?

Sitting in sunny Phnom Penh this morning, we are having tough time with seasonal envy. Oh to wear cozy sweaters, drink hot coffee OUTSIDE and wear boots. Please don’t even talk to us about boots.  Tiff is currently fighting off a cold in 40°C heat and that is simply the worst.

With seasons changing in other parts of the world, we can’t help but feel some of the residual back-to-school/changing leaves excitement. We have been cleaning out closets, finding new inspiration, learning and treating this time of year as a clean slate to get moving on the things we love.

Thinking about shape shifting in my career a lot recently. It’s a mix of exciting and sucky, and with a dash of self-doubt and Garance Dore has a section on her blog all about careers in creative industries. I love reading about professional paths that are not exactly linear. It makes me feel better about jumping into the abyss.

It’s awesome when bloggers use their platform to talk about feminism. This little piece from Cupcakes and Cashmere is eloquent and on point.

I wish I had read this ten years ago.

For those of us blessed with gangly monkey arms, the super long sleeves trend is snuggly and great.

If we could just have a few minutes to chat with Rashida Jones on a super big comfy couch.

This in-flight breakdown, as twitter-documented by Modern Family editor Ryan Case makes that wailing infant seem like perfect seatmate.

In desperate need for a Wednesday afternoon pick me up?  Come on, how could you not say yes to Mindy Kaling and Elmo together.

After watching this, I absolutely need to get my butt to Ethiopia.

Trying to pick out a new workout cult to join? This little ditty might help.

It’s all about Lena this week.  Absolutely catch this fabulous interview on NPR’s Fresh Air.

Sept 17 HumpjumpThe drizzle is never ending in Phnom Penh right now.  This means getting stuck in the office past work hours and dealing with all that humidity.  Thank goodness, Tiff’s on the heels of a runaway to India.  Meanwhile, Cait’s been in the northeast, soaking up as much seafood (smoked, boiled, garlicked and buttered) as humanly possible.  So today’s humpjump is brought to you by the envy of those currently traveling and the excitement that comes with a trip to far flung places that’s just about to begin.

DVF (for those in the know) has an amazing new SS15 line she just showed off at NYFW.  This I am excited for.  Perfect for the Southeast Asian office.

I crush hard on a girl who can work with wood and look good while doing it.

The new fall season of television is upon us! (Mindy premiers tonight!) Are you prepared for the onslaught of terrific stories to come?

A week cannot pass without the mention of dumplings.  All of these sound beyond yum and make me miss weekend lunches with my fam.

Cait’s gonna need to review this when she jumps continents and an ocean next week.

Ladies are getting stronger on screen.  Kicking butt and making decisions like we should be and are doing.

I miss me some North American fall colours.  Here are some of the best American cities for that.

Speaking of North America, I’m digging this pretty Canuck’s blog.

Cup of Jo gets all the best words from all the best ladies about being a woman with a career.

Listen up! Last week’s episode of NPR’s All Songs Considered picked the best songs.  All of them.

humpjump - sept 3

It’s Wednesday. We’re distracted, you’re distracted, and damnit, we need the internet. Here are a few things that are keeping us from being too productive and also add a little sanity to the workday. They are random, but so are we.

Amy Poehler nails it on this one, naturally.

“You being ignorant of these attempts doesn’t mean the issue itself is being ignored. The same way that when it snows where you live, it doesn’t mean the world isn’t getting hotter.” Cait loves Jon Stewart.

Best coats for being a stylish-creepy flasher.

Everyone could use a little bit of glamping.

Tiff is currently obsessed with Hawaiian prints. Now she can wear them throughout the year! Hooray!

Super bloggy tips from this lady.

Can’t wait to dig into some of these books coming out this fall.

This recipe was completely aspirational, so instead we made bowls of this yumminess.

Leandra perfectly described what it takes to get ready the morning.

We couldn’t make it to Stockholm this week, so we are sure glad these ladies let us know what the cool kids are doing.
